Growth Needs A Vision

Posted on February 9, 2022 · By: SFadmin · Announcements

When discussing a company and their leadership, there is usually one role above all others that people are continually familiar with, the role of the CEO. According to Investopedia, the Chief Executive Officer is the one whose “primary responsibilities include making major corporate decisions, managing the overall operations and resources of a company, and in many cases, serves as the public face of the company.” Depending on the company’s size, the CEO may sometimes be ‘more hands-on and involved with day-to-day functions.’ They may also often find themselves ‘setting the tone, vision, and culture of their organizations.’ Simply put, the CEO is often literally and figuratively the captain of the ship. Smaller companies may have no problem operating without a captain, but what happens to a company’s needs as it undergoes rapid growth?

When Semper Foods was founded in early 2018, we began without a CEO in place. The needs of the company were spread out among the three co-founders and the dream they all shared commenced. The needs of the team were many and varied and required someone agile and attentive to make sure that they were met. The responsibilities of the role of the typical COO fell to Mr. Eric Ouellette. From Semper’s inception, Eric has been responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our growing company. As the organization has rapidly grown, so too have the needs of Semper Foods and our team and each and every time Eric has risen to meet those challenges. Whether internally or externally the requirements and the needs of both the company and the team have been met with the utmost enthusiasm. There has never been a bigger champion or supporter out there for Semper Foods than Mr. Eric Ouellette and for that we are all grateful.

As Semper Foods heads into 2022, one thing is certain, this is going to be a year of growth that will be a definitive inflection point from here on out. At this time, it has become increasingly clear that it may be necessary to have someone ready and prepared to be dedicated to focusing on implementing and living a strategic vision for the company and its future to come. It may come as no surprise when we say we are ecstatic to announce that as of this week, Mr. Eric Ouellette will be stepping into his new title as Chief Executive Officer of Semper Foods.

As a company continues to scale, processes and procedures will naturally need to scale and adjust as well. This past year of 2021 was a breakout year for the company as we experienced a 40% year-on-year growth. In the last six months alone we have gone from a group of 15 to a team of 25, soon to be 26. From day one Eric has helped build and advocate for the culture of Semper Foods with a tenacity that few could rival. The truth of the matter is, that as we grow, conversations and partnership opportunities are arising that may previously not have been possible. Having the CEO of the company be able to join these conversations, brings a level of value and significance that simply commands more attention that a COO may have experienced. While Eric would have no problem keeping anyone’s attention during an in-person conversation, in this digital world we often find ourselves in, title’s can open doors and start conversations quicker than a name sometimes.

“You Just Gotta Want It!” reads the tagline of the newest poster that finds itself displayed in each and every office of Semper Foods. This phrase is often spoken at least once a day by Eric, but every member of the team will be ready to attest to the fact that not only is it spoken, it is also lived. As mentioned prior, there is no bigger fan of Semper Foods than Eric Ouellette and what more could any of us want from the man who will now be the face of Semper Foods both internally and externally. Whether he is helping us to emerge into new and exciting sectors, sealing up a partnership with a new large conglomerate, or recruiting high school entrepreneurs for a Semper Foods mentorship during a private flight where he is decked out in his Semper swag, he remains the walking embodiment of a proud leader. This warrior mindset is being instilled in us every single day as he works alongside us all. Eric swears that the next 5 years will see us reaching $50M in sales, having a physical warehouse in the St. Petersburg & Tampa area, and penetrating the local community in ways that just last year may have seemed impossible. One thing is certain, the team continues to dream and strive for more as our leader continues to do the same. Never doubt, “We Want It!”
